Evowhey Protein: a whey protein for everyone
Evowhey Protein from SportSeries is our go-to flavored whey protein: a Whey Protein Concentrate, or concentrated whey protein, made for people who want to add proteins to their diet in a convenient, easy way—and with great taste.
The concentrated whey protein is obtained from whey, separated from casein during cheese making, and processed using filtration systems that concentrate its protein fraction.
It’s a protein from milk from grass-fed cows, with a complete amino acid profile and a formula designed to whip up shakes, recipes, or quick combinations anytime during the day.
Why Evowhey is one of HSN’s most popular proteins
Whey Protein Concentrate: practical, versatile, and easy to use
Evowhey mixes easily, travels without any hassle, and you can use it at different times of the day: around your workout, for breakfast, between meals, or to round out a meal with low protein intake.
If you prefer an unflavoured option so you can mix it with cocoa, fruit, coffee, cinnamon, or flavourings, you also have Whey Protein Concentrate 100%, the unflavoured version of the WPC.
No added amino acids: the declared protein content is real
Evowhey doesn’t contain added amino acids to artificially inflate its protein value. What it provides comes from the whey protein used in the formula.
This practice, known as amino-spiking, involves adding nitrogen compounds so the apparent protein value is higher. With Evowhey we don’t do that: the whey protein is already complete on its own.
About 80% protein in the raw material
The WPC we use starts from a raw material with around 80% protein, a common reference value for a whey concentrate intended for food use.
If, in some flavours, you see values like 77 g of protein per 100 g and not 80 g, it’s because the aromas, sweeteners, cocoa, or other flavour ingredients also take up space in the formula. The difference per shake is usually small, so our recommendation is to choose the flavour you enjoy most.
Chocolate-cocoa flavours may have a slightly lower protein content because they need a higher proportion of cocoa powder. That’s why at HSN we show the specific nutritional information for each flavour, so you can compare with total transparency.
High biological value and reference PDCAAS
The following table summarizes Evowhey Protein’s biological value and PDCAAS compared to other common protein sources.
| Protein source | Biological value | PDCAAS |
|---|
| Evowhey Protein | 104 | 1 |
| Whole egg | 100 | 1 |
| Milk | 91 | 1 |
| Casein | 77 | 1 |
| Meat | 80 | 0,9 |
| Soy | 74 | 0,9 |
| Pea | 65 | 0,69 |
| Rice | 83 | 0,47 |
These figures help explain why whey protein is one of the most-used protein sources when you’re looking for a complete, convenient protein with good nutritional quality.
Complete amino acid profile, with no added amino acids
Evowhey has a complete amino acid profile because the proteins are naturally made up of amino acids. This doesn’t mean amino acids have been added to the formula; it just reports the whey protein’s own profile.
Also, each flavour includes its corresponding nutritional information, including the amino acid profile when applicable, since the values can vary slightly due to the nature of the dairy raw material itself.
Evowhey Protein: a protein for different routines
A good-quality protein powder doesn’t have to be limited to just one goal. Evowhey can fit both in a strength-training stage and in a more general routine of healthy eating—always within a varied diet tailored to your needs.
If you’re after an option with lower fat and sugar content, you can consider the isolated version Evolate 2.0 (Whey isolate CFM). And if you want a whey protein with flavour, versatile and easy to enjoy, Evowhey is a really well-rounded choice.
When to take Evowhey Protein
You can take Evowhey at the time of day that fits your routine best. It’s common to use it before or after training, but you can also add it to breakfast, take it between meals, or use it to round out a meal that’s low in protein. The important thing is that your total daily protein fits your needs and the rest of your diet.
What flavour to try from its 50+ options
Evowhey stands out for its variety of flavours. You’ve got sweeter options, dessert-style flavours, chocolates, coffees, fruits, and more classic profiles for people looking for a shake that’s easy to keep making.
- If you prefer sweeter flavours: Banoffee, caramel, biscuits, or custard tart.
- If you’re looking for less sweet flavours: double chocolate or milk coffee.
- If you want to try very HSN flavours: Caribbean vanilla, turrón, or pistachio.
If you’re not sure where to start, go for small packs or try the Evowhey Protein tasting pack. That way, you can find your favourites before choosing bigger formats.
If sweet proteins aren’t your thing, a practical option is to combine the unflavoured WPC with powdered flavourings, so you can adjust the intensity of the flavour to your liking.
Frequently asked questions about Evowhey Protein
How much Evowhey can I take per shake and per day?
It depends on your protein needs, the rest of your diet, and the time when you’ll use it. You can start with the amount indicated in the directions and adjust it based on your goal, your digestive tolerance, and the total protein intake from your diet.
Do I need a shaker to prepare Evowhey?
It’s not essential, but it is the most convenient way to get a smooth, even shake. You can also use a blender or whisk.
Can I mix Evowhey with other drinks or cook with it?
Yes. You can mix it with water, milk, plant-based drinks, lukewarm coffee, smoothies, or recipes like pancakes, porridge, and cakes. If you add it to very hot drinks, mix it first with a small amount of cold or lukewarm liquid to avoid lumps and improve the texture.
What’s the raw material used for Evowhey Protein?
Whenever possible, we use Fonterra WPC450. In specific cases, an equivalent European raw material may be used, verified by HSN to maintain the product’s nutritional and organoleptic standard. You can find more details in the blog article: What Raw Material Is Used in Evowhey Protein?.
Do the flavours that contain instant coffee have caffeine?
The caffeine content in coffee-flavoured options is residual. Coffee is used for its contribution to smell, colour, and taste, not as a stimulating ingredient.
Is Evowhey a good protein to take before bed?
You can take it before sleeping without any problem. Still, if you’re looking for a protein that’s specifically meant for nighttime use, you might want to consider the caseins, thanks to their slower-release profile.
Can I combine Evowhey and creatine in the same shake?
Yes. Evowhey and creatine are compatible and can be taken the same day, in the same serving, or in the same shake.
Do I need to combine Evowhey with other proteins or amino acids to improve it?
No. Evowhey is a complete protein and doesn’t need added amino acids or other protein sources to improve its nutritional profile.
What is Evowhey’s lecithin and why is it included?
Sunflower lecithin is used to improve protein dispersion in liquid and make shake prep easier. In Evowhey we use sunflower lecithin, not soy, to avoid the soy allergen in the formula.
Why do you add sweeteners to Evowhey?
Sweeteners help you get sweet flavours without adding extra calories. In Evowhey they’re used in very small amounts, and the sugar present comes naturally from the whey protein.
