Evolate 2.0 - HSN's flavoured ISO. Discover it!
Evolate 2.0 (Whey Isolate CFM) by SportSeries is our flavoured and sweetened whey protein isolate, an ideal protein for all users looking to increase their protein intake through a powdered supplement. Often, people with long-term experience using protein supplements have made Evolate 2.0 one of their preferred options, but it is also an excellent choice for beginners due to its high nutritional quality, versatility, and variety of flavours.
Whey protein isolate is obtained through a cross-flow microfiltration process applied to the natural whey from milk, the raw material used to obtain this protein, which in turn comes from the natural milk of grass-fed cows. Evolate 2.0, due to its protein characteristics, is considered a light and fast-absorbing option, like other Wheys.
Evolate 2.0 is a 'reference protein' in the European market, as it is made with one of the best raw materials in the world, minimally processed, with 100% controlled critical control points to avoid any damage to the natural protein structures of whey. Furthermore, it comes from the natural milk of grass-fes cows.
One of our 'Top sellers' - Here it is
A practical option for any preparation stage
Evolate 2.0 is one of HSN's historically most successful proteins, which we have also been improving over time since its initial launch back in 2013.
The success of Evolate 2.0 is easy to explain, mainly due to the type of protein it is: Whey Protein Isolate.
- It is one of the proteins with the highest pure protein content you can buy (iso).
- Its processing is CFM, considered the benchmark of high-quality isolates.
- The origin is certified from Europe, from farms recognised for the quality of the milk.
- It is easily digested, light, and has a low natural content of sugar and fat.
- Its lactose content (although present) is lower than that of Whey concentrates. Moreover, Evolate 2.0 contains lactase.
- It is suitable for cooking; one of the most common uses of Evolate 2.0 is in Fit recipes.
Thanks to all this, combined with the known nutritional quality of dairy proteins, which are considered the benchmark for protein quality from any dietary source, Evolate 2.0 has become one of the best options you can use regardless of your goal.
Evolate 2.0 (isolates in general) have always been considered the 'ideal protein prior to the summer months' due to its low contribution of other nutrients that would increase the total caloric intake. However, the quality of Evolate has led to an expansion over the years, and now anyone who likes Evolate 2.0 uses it year-round, whether bulking or cutting, it makes no difference.
If you are looking for a high-quality protein, practical to carry and to consume at any time just by mixing it with water, Evolate 2.0 is the best option you can buy.
With a naturally complete amino acid profile - No additives
The amino acid profile measures the content of amino acids in a specific protein. It is common to find lower quality proteins (nutritionally) or those marketed by less committed brands that do not break down the amino acid content of their proteins.
Be careful, because many brands use a 'generic amino acid table' to represent the amino acid profile of all flavours of a single protein, across all manufacturing batches. This is because they do not actually measure their amino acids but use 'average' public domain values and do not adapt them according to the variation that the protein can present between its batches or flavours.
At HSN, we measure the amino acid profile of our proteins, differentiating their content based on the flavour and batch, since powdered proteins like Evolate 2.0 are products with a low degree of processing and present natural variability between production batches.
The amino acids in Evolate 2.0 are the natural ones from a high-quality isolated whey protein.
In the international market, especially in the American market a decade ago, adding amino acids to proteins became fashionable because their content is quantified by nitrogen content, and amino acids are nitrogenous compounds, artificially 'inflating' the protein content. This practice is not penalised but is considered unlawful, a kind of deception regarding the quality of proteins.
At HSN, we have rejected this practice since our foundation, even though many internationally renowned brands did it and sold it as a 'superior protein' with added amino acids, not being more than a false way to increase protein content. Our Evolate 2.0 has a high content of essential amino acids, BCAAs and Glutamine. It has a recognised amino acid profile of the highest quality protein, yet this profile is natural from the high-quality protein, not an artificial profile modified through amino-spiking.
Enjoy a protein with a real, high-quality amino acid profile.

WPI 90% - The highest protein content raw material
The raw material of Evolate 2.0 is 90% protein whey protein isolate (Whey Protein Isolate).
This means that the base of the protein raw material used to prepare the flavours of Evolate 2.0 has a content of around 90g of protein per 100g of product.
And why don't all flavours of Evolate have this content?
The protein content of Evolate 2.0 flavours fluctuates between 75g/100g for double chocolate flavour and 90g/100g for flavours like white chocolate and lemon. These variations are due to the other ingredients, besides the protein itself, used to create the flavour. In fact, chocolate flavours that contain cocoa are the ones with the 'least' protein content because the cocoa accounts for a significant % of the formula: Double Chocolate contains up to 15g less protein per 100g of product because it has a large amount of pure cocoa to achieve its intense and characteristic flavour that has enamoured many of our Evolate-lovers. On the other hand, flavours like Vanilla barely impact the protein content of the base raw material because they require only a small amount of aroma and nothing more, and that almost doesn't take up part of the total composition.
However, despite these variations, the different flavours of a high nutritional quality protein like Evolate 2.0 are considered equally high-quality options, with the impact of the variation in protein content of the flavours being as small as 1-5g per shake. HSN specialists do not recommend choosing a flavour based on its protein content, but on the personal preference for the type of flavour you like the most, as they are all equivalent in nutritional quality.
Protein quality markers - Evolate 2.0 the queen
Protein powders (as well as protein-rich foods) have different analytical methods to control protein quality, such as biological value or PDCAAS, as the most prominent.
These protein quality markers have been established as references by health and consumer entities to assess how nutritionally good a protein is, based on the amount of nitrogen the body retains (and therefore uses), amino acid content, or digestibility.
Evolate 2.0 is a whey protein, so it is considered the best protein source in terms of providing high nutritional quality protein (intended for muscle gain), with good digestibility and efficient absorption.
Protein Source | Biological Value | PDCAAS |
Evolate 2.0 (Whey Isolate CFM) | 104 | 1 |
Whole egg | 100 | 1 |
Milk | 91 | 1 |
Casein | 77 | 1 |
Meat | 80 | 0.9 |
Soy | 74 | 0.9 |
Pea | 65 | 0.69 |
Rice | 83 | 0.47 |
As a protein source, Evolate 2.0 is nutritionally one of the best choices, along with other dairy proteins.
This equally applies to whey protein concentrate: Evowhey Protein. Another excellent option!
Formula with DigeZyme® - What it is and why it's added
DigeZyme® is a registered trademark, patented by Sabinsa Laboratories, with a blend of different enzymes that combine excellently to work synergistically with the consumption of nutrient-dense foods, such as protein powder.

The different enzymes in the patented blend come from various sources, making the product adaptable to different dietary preferences, and it does not contain allergens:

Evolate 2.0 is the ideal protein for cutting
As we mentioned earlier, Evolate 2.0, like other isolated proteins on the market, has been recognised for its easy adaptability during calorie restriction periods, as it is such a concentrated source of protein with such a low content of other caloric nutrients, which is why the 'iso' has always been the perfect protein for 'cutting'.
However, this is not the only use for this protein, as for many years, whey isolates have been relegated to the role of a cutting protein, with no use during the rest of the year, but why?
With advancements in food science and nutrition, protein powder users have learned that Evolate 2.0, as well as other whey isolate options on the market, are not just cutting proteins but can be used year-round, at any time of an athlete's season, regardless of their aesthetic or performance goals.
If you like Evolate 2.0 and its consistency in shakes, its flavour, and its nutritional contribution, use Evolate year-round, whether bulking or cutting, you don't have to change your protein if you don't want to try others, nor do you have to alternate protein powder sources. Evolate is a complete and excellent option as your main protein.
When to take Evolate 2.0 - Ideal for any time
It's normal to have doubts about when to use protein powder because there is a lot of misinformation on the internet, but HSN will explain it to you simply:
Evolate 2.0 is food in powder form, meaning it is a food that has been processed to maximise its protein content, making it practically pure protein. So... when is the best time to eat a chicken breast? It seems like a strange question, doesn't it? The best time is whenever you want to eat it. Well, the same goes for Evolate 2.0, you can take it any time you want to consume a good source of dietary protein.
The advantage of Evolate 2.0 and other protein powders is that they are very practical. Being instant powder, you can carry them in a shaker, and just by adding water, you can consume a significant amount of protein for your diet quickly, cleanly, practically, and deliciously without having to carry containers or deal with heavy digestion.
This is why Evolate 2.0 is ideal for use around training, whether before or after training. It is OK to tale it also on an empty stomach, if you wake up in the morning and need a quick protein intake, but you can perfectly take it as part of a meal, between meals, in recipes... It is very versatile and adaptable to any need.
As a recommendation: if you are looking for a protein to use at night, it is preferable to opt for caseins, which are options with a slower absorption rate that release gradually over the hours you sleep.
Wide variety of flavours available, which one is yours?
Evolate 2.0 is one of our proteins with the most flavour variety, surpassed only by Evowhey Protein.
The reason for this is that dairy proteins, and especially whey proteins, besides being highly used and therefore in high demand, are also easily flavoured, meaning it is much easier to achieve good flavours than with other proteins like meat or plant proteins.
This is why in Evolate 2.0 you have many flavour choices, so you can choose your favourite or try different ones to find your top favourites at home. An excellent option for this is to use the Evolate 2.0 Sampling Pack.
The most commonly purchased flavours of Evolate 2.0 are cookies and cream, chocolate (and double chocolate after its launch), and strawberry and banana.
As less common protein flavours, coffee with milk, pistachio, and chocolate hazelnut bonbon are some of the most successful from our own development.
If you prefer sweeter flavours: cookies and cream, custard, and speculoos will be your favourites. If, on the other hand, you prefer less sweet options: double chocolate, latte coffee, and strawberry and coconut will be options you will like more. Keep in mind that Evolate 2.0 is a protein developed to please as many people as possible, so all its flavours are sweet. If you are used to consuming all your meals without added sugar or sweeteners, even the 'less sweet' flavours of Evolate 2.0 may seem too sweet to you. For you, we have an option:
- Try the Evolate 2.0 Mix Pack, which consists of the raw material Whey Protein Isolate, unflavoured, with powdered flavourings for dairy proteins. This way, you can regulate how much flavour and sweetness you want to add to your shake, creating a homemade version of Evolate 2.0 less sweet if you are looking for it that way.
Q&A Evolate 2.0 - HSN Answers!
Can I take more than one scoop of Evolate 2.0 per shake? And more than one shake a day?
Yes to both questions.
Our nutrinfo service experts and our general customer service department frequently receive this question. We are always ready to help with whatever you need, but this question has a simple answer.
Evolate 2.0, like other protein powders, are, as we have clarified before, Foods. So...
Would you ask if you can only eat 100g of beef? Or if you can eat fish more than once a day?
These questions don't make sense, do they? The answer would always be 'Yes' and 'Depending on...' your needs, goals, or what's in your fridge. Well, Evolate 2.0 works the same way, many people still believe that exceeding 30g of protein powder per shake will cause a % of it not to be absorbed. This is one of the biggest myths in nutrition; protein is 100% absorbed, regardless of the amount consumed, and it takes more or less time to absorb. Of course, if you are a large person with significant body weight, or have just trained on an empty stomach, you need more protein than someone smaller or with different goals or scenarios, and you can add 30, 40, 60g or as much as you need to your shake.
And as a food, you can use multiple shakes a day, of course, as needed. Experienced athletes use protein powders as another meal in their diet, adapting it to their needs, and carrying multiple protein shakes to take when they are away from home, or when they need a quick and convenient protein intake without complications.
If your question is more related to how much Evolate you should consume, the truth is there is no single answer for that. It depends on the amount of protein you need to consume in your diet. If you're not sure how much that is, you can use our nutritional calculators, where the calculations you get will help you determine the ideal amount of protein for you based on your individual goals and needs.
How to prepare Evolate 2.0? What do I need?
Water and a mixer, it couldn't be easier, right?
From here, you can develop much more how to prepare your best Evolate shake. For example, you can replace water with other types of beverages. If you are going to take a strawberry or raspberry Evolate, you can mix it with natural red fruit juice; if you are going to take a chocolate or caramel Evolate, you can mix it with milk to get a thicker and tastier shake; or with plant milk a coconut Evolate, to get a shake with a plant-based fruity flavour.
To get a smooth shake, usually, a cup and a spoon are not enough, as protein, even if instant, does not mix as easily as instant cocoa or sugar. Some people use blenders with mixing jars, but this is not necessary. Usually, the most practical, versatile, and useful tool for preparing your shakes is a shaker like our HSN We Are Nutrition! Shaker with mixing ball.

Can I take it with milk or plant-based milk? Does it change anything?
You can mix Evolate 2.0 with the drink of your choice, there really is no problem mixing it with any type of drink you enjoy. Of course, there are options that don't go well together, for example, the combination of a flavour like coffee with orange juice is strange and not to most people's taste, but there is no incompatibility of use.
Since Evolate flavours have a very distinct taste profile, it is usually recommended to combine them with neutral-tasting drinks, such as water, milk, or plant-based milks.
However, not everyone prepares them this way. Many people, for example, prepare Cold Brew and mix in a shaker Evolate 2.0 of a flavour like cocoa or vanilla to create a kind of cold, lacteal, and protein-rich Caffè Latte; a real fit delight, easy to prepare, in summer with ice. How about that?
Nothing changes in terms of the nutritional characteristics Evolate provides based on the liquid it's mixed with: it doesn't absorb more, less, faster, or slower.
Is it suitable for cooking? Does it lose effectiveness when heated?
You can cook recipes with Evolate 2.0, from simple preparations like smoothies to more complex ones like cakes or pancakes. It is difficult to integrate Evolate because of its sweet flavour into savoury recipes, but if you see the opportunity, experiment!
Using proteins for cooking has always raised a lot of uncertainty because of the concept of denaturation. Protein denaturation is a normal process that does not affect the nutritional quality or effects of the proteins consumed in the diet. It only affects the biological relevance of the intact protein, which is irrelevant nutritionally since our intestines absorb only amino acids and small peptides.
In other words, there's no need to worry about the effects of heating protein and its chemical alterations. It remains equally bioavailable.
A tip: if you mix Evolate 2.0 in very hot liquid, to the point of boiling, you cause thermal damage to the powder, making it lose its ability to mix, ruining the protein's solubility. Therefore, we recommend mixing it with cold, warm, or hot liquids but avoiding boiling to prevent this.
What is Evolate 2.0's raw material?
Usually, and whenever they can supply the quantities we need for production, we use Fonterra WPI.
We have been working with Fonterra raw materials in our whey proteins for years. We are major clients of the dairy producer, which we have chosen for proteins like our Evolate or Evowhey because their quality is excellent, and the nutritional and organoleptic uniformity of their batches is very controlled. Moreover, they care for the livestock, supporting local farmers and ensuring animal welfare in their dairy facilities. In fact, they guarantee the grass-fed status of the milk used to produce our proteins.
Fonterra's protein can come to us from their plant in Lithuania, the UK, or the Netherlands. There are slight differences noticeable in the raw material, not nutritionally significant as it is always the same raw material from the same company. However, being a natural product with minimal processing, you may notice the differences that the same raw material from different origins presents.
This is why if you buy a flavour of Evolate 2.0 from one production batch today, and within a year buy another batch of the same product, made with the same raw material but from a different origin, you might notice the powder has changed: denser, or more compact; or vice versa, lighter or looser. This is not relevant as all raw material batches go through our quality controls in tasting, documentation, and evaluation by our R&D experts. Hence, the quality of all Evolates is always the same: Excellent.
The nuance of 'whenever they can supply the quantities we need for production' refers to the possibility that at a certain point we request raw material from Fonterra, and they cannot supply us, not even from the combination of the distribution of raw material from each of their plants. This is because as producers, we manufacture large batches of Evolate and purchase tonnes of raw material; this problem does not affect small brands producing a few kg of product. However, we have received responses from Fonterra that they do not have the quantity we need available, impossible.
In these cases, we have alternative certified suppliers by our quality department, who provide us with raw material nutritionally and organoleptically equivalent to the one we usually use from Fonterra. We do not innovate here; we have a few dairy producers that meet our quality standards, and when we need more raw material, we turn to them. They are always of European origin.
You can read more about this in our blog article: What is the Raw Material used by Evowhey Protein 2.0?, which is about Evowhey but also applies to Evolate 2.0 since we use Fonterra in both.
Do the flavours containing 'instant coffee' have caffeine?
The latte coffee and coffee and caramel flavours contain some caffeine, from the soluble coffee used to achieve the flavour of Evolate 2.0.
The reason for not using decaffeinated coffee for the flavours is that we do not achieve the intensity we seek. The instant coffee we use is of very high quality, with an American roast that achieves delicious nuances in the coffee bean. The caffeine content of our instant coffee is not high, and we do not seek to add caffeine to our coffee-flavoured proteins. The caffeine content of an Evolate coffee shake is barely equivalent to a few ounces of dark chocolate.
The flavours that do not contain coffee, of course, do not have this characteristic. Evolate 2.0 is a stimulant-free protein as such.
What does 'CFM' mean in Evolate 2.0?
Cross-Flow Microfiltration.
It is the method used to obtain the isolated protein, involving its filtration through a cross-flow membrane system with a specific micropore size to obtain the purest naturally present protein in cow's milk whey.
Evolate 2.0 is a Cross-Flow Microfiltration whey protein isolate.
Can I mix Evolate and Creatine in the same shake?
Yes, they are completely compatible.
Can I use Evolate with amino acids? Do I have to?
Yes. Evolate 2.0 can be mixed on the same day, in the same serving, and in the same shake with any isolated amino acid.
It is not necessary to combine them unless you are looking for the specific nutritional effects of a particular amino acid (for example, beta-alanine). Evolate 2.0's amino acid content is complete at a nutritional level, and you do not need to add BCAA's, EAA's or Glutamine (for example) to enrich it.
Why doesn't Evolate have only one ingredient?
Because it couldn't have flavour.
To develop the flavours, we need to add ingredients that give it taste, such as coffee or cocoa; the aromas and sweeteners; if not added, it is impossible to achieve a flavoured Evolate.
Likewise, the raw material as it reaches us is not 'single ingredient' either, as it contains lecithins, natural phospholipids from plants that allow the protein to mix with a shaker.
Evolate 2.0 is an 'instant' protein; without lecithins, it would be a 'regular' one, and believe us... Mixing a regular protein in a shake is a titanic task, which is why you will find sunflower lecithin as an emulsifier in Evolate and its unflavoured version, as it allows the protein to mix quickly and easily in water or milk.
Do I have unflavoured options available?
You can use 100% Whey Protein Isolate from our brand RawSeries to use the same protein as Evolate 2.0 but unflavoured, literally the same raw material we use in Evolate 2.0, but packaged before developing our own flavours.
