Evobomb - An explosive pre-workout in an optimised version
Evobomb by SportSeries is a pre-workout powder formula with stimulants and sweeteners which was developed as a limited edition, maintained to this day after listening to your requests to keep it in the catalogue... Now, with a surprise:
We have improved its formula! Welcome to the new Evobomb, with the original essence of the pre-workout initially developed, but updated according to the latest scientific evidence on the use of ergogenic compounds for sports performance1, combinations, quantities, and with a new balance of the sweet and unique punch of blackcurrant flavour - Better and more effective than ever!
Evobomb is an ideal pre-workout for use in the morning and afternoon. We do not recommend using the product near bedtime as its stimulant content is significant and, while very effective in optimising activation and sports performance, it can interfere with sleep in sensitive individuals.
Composition of Evobomb - Then and Now
A simpler and more effective formula, how is that possible?
Evobomb originally emerged as the idea of developing a different pre-workout, with stimulants but a caffeine content that wasn't as high as most options available on the market and instead, featuring a high concentration of compounds recognised for their appeal to athletes, due to the significant volume of scientific research1 conducted in recent decades regarding their nutritional properties for regular exercise practitioners. Compounds such as citrulline, beta-alanine, or tyrosine.
In our formula improvement, we adjusted the amounts of compounds already present in the pre-workout, increasing the intake of the previously mentioned amino acids, and improving the presentation of tyrosine, switching from NALT to a base L-Tyrosine, better suited for a pre-workout formula.
Additionally, we removed plant extracts that, after reviewing the literature related to their properties, we deemed insufficiently characterised, or whose intake required to utilise them was excessive to achieve a drink with good miscibility, good taste, or without having to reduce the intake of other more important compounds.
The result? Evobomb, the usual, but improved. Evobomb has not lost its properties, its composition is 100% Evobomb, it has not become a different pre-workout nor with a different focus from the original idea. Simply, its composition is now optimal, maintaining the original essence that made Evobomb your favourite pre-workout. And if it isn't yet... it's because you haven't tried it!
We removed the extracts - Better solubility and results
The original Evobomb, in its 'limited edition' formula, contained a moderate intake of Mangifera indica leaf extract and Alpinia galanga root extract. These plants were originally added for their scientific evidence showing potentially positive properties in combination with other compounds in the formula, such as caffeine.
Despite this efficacy approach not changing, plant extracts, especially when not highly concentrated in a specific active compound (or more), have very limited miscibility (ability to mix) in water. In other words: Herbal extracts are not good allies of instant powders ready to mix in water and take, as they tend not to mix well, which requires the use of small quantities, negatively affecting their nutritional characteristics.
In the reformulation of Evobomb, we decided to improve the pre-workout's solubility by removing both plant extracts and keeping only AstraGin®, which meets the conditions required to be considered a well-soluble extract in the quantities present in Evobomb.
However, removing these extracts did not result in a loss of the formula's properties, as we compensated for their removal by increasing the intake of scientifically1 rigorous ergogenic compounds in relation to their properties. Keep reading to learn more!
We doubled the Beta-Alanine intake: According to expert recommendations
The original development of Evobomb included 1500 mg of Beta-Alanine.
We used this amount after reading the dosage guidelines for this amino acid concerning its nutritional properties in athletes, placing it in the lower range of effectiveness, avoiding the paresthesia characteristically caused by this amino acid, and thinking that if someone wanted to supplement their diet with a higher intake of this amino acid, they could do so using it in isolation.
However, after reviewing the ISSN Position Stand by Trexler and colleagues, which you can find in the scientific references of this publication, we decided to increase the beta-alanine intake to 4 grams, so that if you do not use additional beta-alanine in your diet, you can still enjoy an average dose in the reported effectiveness range for this compound.
If you are sensitive to the effects of beta-alanine on paresthesia, and if you were used to the traditional Evobomb formula, with its reformulation, you may notice a different degree of 'tingling' on your skin, this is something specific to the increased Beta-Alanine dose, it has no associated problems, it is temporary and limited to a 'sensation,' it has no positive or negative impact on any aspect of health, sports performance, or any other area of interest.
With 35 mg of AstraGin® - Why is it included?
AstraGin® is a blend of extracts from Panax notoginseng and Astragalus membranaceus with a standardised saponin content, which was already included in Evobomb in its '1.0' version, simply in smaller quantities, about half the amount present in the updated version.
The reasons for its use are those reported by the raw material developer, NuLivScience, motivated by the research on the combined use of this patent and other compounds typically present in pre-workouts, such as beta-alanine:
- Huang, S.-F., Shen, Y.-C., Ou, C.-H., Tang, I.-C., Yang, H.-W., Kao, Y.-T., Chang, W.-L., & Chang, T.-C. (2023). Astragalus membranaceus and Panax notoginseng saponins improve intestinal L-arginine absorption and protect against intestinal disorder in vivo. 200 mg of Caffeine - A sufficient and balanced intake
Evobomb provides 200 mg of caffeine per serving.
This can be considered an ideal amount, as it is equivalent to about two strong cups of coffee, in a convenient dose to make the most of caffeine's effects on reducing subjective perception of physical effort (it should be consumed in doses of 4 mg/kg of body weight an hour before exercise. The target population is adults who engage in endurance exercise) and on concentration and alertness (requiring the consumption of 75 mg).
We have maintained the original caffeine intake in the formula as Evobomb was not developed to provide enormous amounts of stimulants, like other 'hardcore' pre-workouts with 300 or 400 mg per dose, combined with other alkaloids.
However, its properties are not negatively affected, on the contrary, Evobomb's caffeine intake is more balanced, ideal for people who enjoy the positive effects of caffeine but achieve similar results with more moderate intakes.
6 different incredible flavours!
The blackcurrant flavour is a classic in our catalogue, but with Evobomb, it has been our trademark for several years.
However, we have recently added new flavours to the formula, with a fresh taste, both sweet and sour, a contrast that will surprise you.
You can enjoy the classic blackcurrant, but also: mango, apple, lemon, mojito, and orange.
Which one is yours!
How to take Evobomb - Can I use it in Dry-Scooping?
Evobomb is a pre-workout that has a regular use, the usual for this type of product.
We recommend using it before the moment you seek the energy punch, usually around 30-60 minutes before training.
The preparation method is simple thanks to its solubility, as you just need to mix one scoop with 300 ml of water, and for its homogenisation, you don't need a shaker or any specific utensil. You can simply mix it in a glass of water and stir with a spoon to get the mixture ready in seconds and ready to drink.
And what about Dry-Scooping?
Dry scooping is a common practice in the use of pre-workouts.
We at HSN usually do not recommend using it as it is a way in which you do not adequately enjoy the product's taste, in addition to potentially causing choking, and you need to be careful taking it this way; but it is possible to use Evobomb with the dry scooping method.
Essentially, it involves using the usual amount of pre-workout that you would mix in water but taking it dry, in powder form, directly into your mouth. Often followed by a generous amount of water to swallow it properly.
Dry scooping is faster, and many users report that it is more convenient or that they perceive the effects of pre-workouts more intensely using them this way; we at HSN recommend the traditional method, but if you are a user who uses pre-workouts in the dry scooping mode; you can use Evobomb this way.
