GI Biotics (Probiotics) 100B CFU - The most potent formula
GI Biotics (Probiotics) 100B CFU from EssentialSeries is the presentation with the highest concentration of HSN's probiotic formulas for the digestive section*, thanks to its content in specific nutrients. GI Biotics contains a mix of probiotics based on 11 different strains, specifically chosen for their characteristics, with a total biological activity of 100 billion colony-forming units assured until the end of their shelf life, along with Inulin, FOS, Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), and Zinc which * helps in the normal metabolism of macronutrients.
HSN's 'Biotics' developments are formulas created from the highest quality probiotic ferments on the market, those that are most resistant to external environmental aggressions, such as heat, oxygen exposure, and other factors that normally severely affect the survival of bacteria, thus conditioning their effectiveness. The HSN formula is a development from our R&D team after years of scientific research, literature review, tests, and study of raw materials. You won't find another probiotic formula like it!
This product is GI Biotics, but in 100B version, a declared unit of biological activity, which is the authentically valid way to measure the action capacity of probiotics. The 100B presentation is ideal for use in specific moments, those where you need more potency and concentration.

Colony Forming Units - The key to its potency
When talking about probiotics, we find a differential consideration compared to other products, and that is as we know their biological activity, and therefore their direct effectiveness, in relation to it; the mass (the milligrams) of product is not a legitimately relevant measurement, as it is with practically any other product.
However, many companies do not declare the Colony Forming Units of their probiotics, why? Always linked to issues: either due to lack of knowledge or due to non-transparent labeling practices to make it appear that their product is more effective when it actually is less.
Always demand to know the UNITS of biological activity of the probiotics, not the milligrams of powder used, as this does not tell you how many microorganisms are alive, while the units do. Also, make sure these units are certified as viable at the end of their shelf life; to ensure that up to the last day of use, the product is effective.
At HSN we provide complete and transparent information, our GI Biotics provides 100B CFU, amount assured until the best before date of the product as long as its storage is adequate (considering that the storage of HSN's Biotics, thanks to their resistance, is much simpler than that of other formulas that require cold chain care).
Mix of 11 strains specifically selected by our R&D

Probiotics, although we usually refer to them as such, as if they were a unique entity, the truth is they are made up of many different bacterial strains with particular properties; and scientists know this, which is why they have focused so specifically on researching the nutritional effects of each specific probiotic strain and establishing appropriate use for each of them, not as a 'group'.
The research related to bacterial strains for the development of a probiotic is enormously complex and requires not only technical knowledge to carry it out but also time and synthesis capacity to be able to formulate an effective product with a mix of the selection of the best bacterial strains for a specific goal.
Well, this has been the goal of our R&D team and the work of years of research in the search for the best possible combination of probiotics for the development not only of GI Biotics but of the rest of our biotic formulas; our probiotics are not like other products on the market; we have taken a lot of time in researching how to combine ferments concretely to achieve the best effectiveness.
GI Biotics is the culmination of this process, the materialization of success in achieving a complete and effective formula of stable probiotics.
Selection of the most resistant species - Cultivation under unfavorable conditions
When talking about probiotics, another question of great relevance to consider, which also was a significant source of research by our specialists is: Under what conditions have the probiotics been developed.
Probiotics grow and proliferate in controlled environments, and after researching scientific literature and discussing with biochemists specialized in the field, we understood that the way in which most specialists develop probiotics is the most conducive to their proliferation, as it is the easiest way, and most straightforward to achieve a large amount of CFU without large investments, for this they prepare optimal media, with controlled temperature, in which bacteria develop, and that's why almost all probiotics need to be stored in the fridge.
However, we were not looking for that, we wanted probiotics that did not need cold storage, and for this, it was necessary to resort to the world's leading experts in probiotic cultivation to ensure their resistance was adequate to what we were looking for, the most comfortable way for users of our probiotics; and in the end, it was possible.
It was simply necessary to hinder the proliferation of probiotics in the culture medium, instead of creating an ideal environment, we have chosen environmental conditions similar to those you can find in day-to-day life, in this way we have managed that although the investment had to be higher, since probiotics do not multiply at the same speed, nor to the same degree; those that survive are much more resistant strains than the average, specific species that do not need refrigeration for their effective preservation, and with minimal care in ambient storage, survive optimally until the end of their shelf life.
With Inulin and FOS (Prebiotics) - GI Biotics is a symbiotic (Probiotic + Prebiotic)
Probiotics have a best friend, also a large family that is usually conceptualized as a 'global' although each component of it has particular characteristics, and this is: The family of prebiotics.
Prebiotics are fibers, fermentable polysaccharides, which in combination with probiotics form what scientists call 'symbiotics', the effects of prebiotics are considered synergistic to those of probiotics, supporting their overall action at the nutritional level.
HSN's Biotics take advantage of this synergy to develop probiotics with a plus, probiotic formulas that go beyond and cease to be just probiotic to become symbiotic, thanks to the use of different prebiotic sources, such as inulin and fructooligosaccharides.
Enjoy the most effective probiotic formula, thanks to its combination with prebiotics, at HSN.
Probiotics protected by DR Caps® capsules
Probiotics, although in our specific selection we do not find this problem, are extremely unstable elements that require very specific conditions for their correct preservation and survival. In our case, this does not happen since the unfavorable cultivation conditions favor only the viability of the most capable bacteria, and they resist to a greater degree the environmental exposure compared to other probiotics on the market.
However, the incorporation of DR Caps®, a recognized patent from the specialized encapsulation manufacturer: Lonza; is an improvement in every way.

DR Caps® allows total protection of the probiotics, not only because of their greater resistance against the agents of classic and traditional coatings, like gelatins or HPMC, which allows an integral and total protection against prolonged exposure to ambient temperature conditions and oxygen in units that we keep in the pantry for months and that we do not use quickly; but also, thanks to its enteric treatment, they allow gastric passage without contact with the digestive medium's acids, being able to reach the intestine intact, without exposure to unfavorable factors that, as resistant as they are, can always affect to some degree the survival of the bacteria.

100% guaranteed protected probiotics, for superior survival.
Resistant ferments - Stay alive without a fridge
Probiotics, for the convenience of their manufacturers, are developed in controlled environments, ideal for their massive proliferation, without any challenge and interference; that's why many of the probiotics manufactured on the market are really cheap to produce.
However, this practice is problematic, because it requires very high subsequent care, including the production chain of the dietary supplement, something that often the company does not ensure and that's why they do not indicate the viable CFU at the end of the product's shelf life, because they do not know what % of their probiotics die; but not only that, but at your home, you need to store the probiotics in the fridge, as well as the shipping has to be done in cold, all so that the bacteria do not die and stop being probiotic.
In our probiotics we only use bacteria cultured in unfavorable environments for their survival, where one of the main characteristics of their medium is that it is at room temperature, what does this mean? That they have not been cultured in cold and they do not need it to survive.
We present one of the few probiotics that you will not have to keep in the fridge, store it on a shelf in your kitchen and do not worry about the survival of your probiotics, just keep it at a reasonable temperature, especially in summer if you live in very hot areas; and nothing more, the probiotics are preserved in perfect survival conditions in a guaranteed manner.
No need for manipulation in cold production chain, with refrigerated shipping and its logistical limitations nor forcing you to store the package in your fridge. In a more practical, easy, and comfortable way to store them, thanks to the investment in R&D of our system of probiotic development with superior survival.
100B CFU - When to use it and how to combine it with 25B
At HSN you have different probiotic formulas with bacteria combined with specific approaches for different goals, and in all of them, you will find two different dosages based on the amount of Colony Forming Units that make up their composition.
In this case, the product you are reading about is GI Biotics 100B CFU, this presentation is intended for use in key moments, where you need the most probiotic support possible, hence we recommend using the 100B version when you need it most, but if your goal is simply support and maintenance through the contribution of probiotics, in the long term, the 25B CFU presentation is sufficient and appropriate.
One of the most common ways to use the two presentations in combination is as follows:
After a period where you have spent time damaging your bacterial flora for some reason, and you are looking for extra probiotic support, you can start with the 100B presentation, which provides 60 vegetable gastric-resistant capsules with 100 billion viable probiotic units in each of them, you only need 1 capsule a day, so the package will last you 2 months.
Once finished, you can continue with the 25B CFU presentation, for 4 more months (corresponding to the 120 veg caps presentation, and the consumption pattern of one capsule a day).
After half a year using GI Biotics, you can, depending on your needs:
- Repeat the cycle of 60 days with 100B CFU + 120 days with 25B CFU.
- Continue uninterrupted with 25B CFU for as long as you wish.
- Stop the use of probiotics and replace them with foods rich in nutritionally beneficial bacteria, like Yogurt or Kefir powder.
Probiotics + Other supplements, compatible?
Of course!
There is no contraindication to the combination of probiotics with any dietary supplement, all of them are compatible with GI Biotics, and we recommend their joint use with:
