Using RAW Beta-Alanine in capsules is possible!
Beta-Alanine 1125mg from RawSeries is a dietary supplement from HSN's '100% Pure' line, made with the highest purity vegan beta-alanine. Its encapsulation is carried out without adding any kind of additives or processing agents.
Each vegetable capsule provides you with 1125mg, which is an increase of over 10% in compound content compared to equivalent products from our brand. This is possible due to the removal of additives from the formula, as they are not present, do not occupy space, and the total capacity of the capsule is used for containing pure amino acid powder.
Beta-Alanine from HSN is a development of the new 100% Pure product line from RawSeries, extending the 'Just Pure' philosophy to our encapsulated products as well.

What is beta-alanine?
Beta-alanine is a structural modification of the essential amino acid alanine, based on the shift of the functional group (amino) from the alpha carbon to the beta carbon.
This amino acid has become very popular after many scientists in the field of human nutrition became interested in its physiological properties. In fact, less than a decade ago, the International Society of Sports Nutrition, a highly respected entity in the field of food and dietary supplement research and innovation, took a positive stance on the characteristics of this compound:
- Trexler ET, Smith-Ryan AE, Stout JR, Hoffman JR, Wilborn CD, Sale C, Kreider RB, Jäger R, Earnest CP, Bannock L, Campbell B, Kalman D, Ziegenfuss TN, Antonio J. International society of sports nutrition position stand: Beta-Alanine. J Int Soc Sports Nutr. 2015 Jul 15;12:30. doi: 10.1186/s12970-015-0090-y. PMID: 26175657; PMCID: PMC4501114
Before this stance, and especially since its publication, the volume of scientific research has grown until it reached maximum values at the beginning of the 2020s, where a large amount of research is focused on this amino acid, its behaviour in the body, and its unique properties.
Who uses beta-alanine? Is it for me?
Beta-alanine is an organic precursor of the peptide carnosine, composed of beta-alanine + L-histidine, and part of the scientific and nutritional interest related to the amino acid lies in this relationship.
Beta-alanine is an amino acid mainly used by athletes, especially those who perform high-intensity physical activities repeatedly, such as short-distance runners, football players, basketball players, and other team sports athletes, as well as contact sports athletes.
For athletes, beta-alanine is often combined with other amino acids and compounds which contribute to enhancing sports performance, such as caffeine. Thus, beta-alanine is frequently found in commercial pre-workout powder formulas, such as:
You can also use it RAW to combine it with other specific dietary supplements according to your needs!
'100% Pure' from HSN - Your usual RAW now in veg caps
At HSN, we have various product lines, among which you can find formulas specifically designed for athletes: SportSeries; dietary supplements aimed at helping you take care of yourself: EssentialSeries; and RawSeries as our 'pure' line.
In RAW, we offer you products that are not formulas; they are simply the pure raw material used in the preparation of our formulas in other ranges, often in powder form, and without additives: no flavour, no colour, no aromas... Nothing!
We developed this product line many years ago because there were people whose goal was to be able to use pure products, often combined with each other, to prepare their own mixes, which they then flavour with calorie-free flavourings.
We were one of the first national brands, and today we are the brand with the most RAW products available in our catalogue, which is not exclusively dedicated to the sale of raw materials. Thanks to this, many users have been able to access top-quality raw materials, in retail formats, to prepare their own specific dietary supplement combinations.
However, the capsule format has always been something we had pending, as many raw materials do not behave correctly in encapsulation machines, or do not have adequate preservation without the use of additives such as anti-caking agents. Hence, all our RAW products were in powder form, but that is over!
With great investments of time and effort, our R&D team has started to develop compounds that can be encapsulated without adding anything, so easy, so you can have your usual formulas in an alternative format to powder, in this case, in vegetable capsules.
High unit concentration: 1125mg per capsule
Did you know that at HSN we don't use '000' capsules?
For many years, 000 capsules are a large capsule size that can store up to 1 gram or more of compounds per unit, without too much care in the mesh measures of the raw materials used. However, they have a major drawback: their size is prohibitive for use by many people, as they cannot swallow them.
We have reduced the size of our largest encapsulated products to the 00 capsule, with a much smaller size, and we have achieved all this without reducing the content of our encapsulated products, simply having an optimised production process and paying special attention to the particle size control of our raw materials, so that the density is millimetrically optimised and we can introduce the maximum amount of powder possible into each of our capsules.
This becomes more evident when we have been able to develop encapsulated products without additives, as 100% of the capsule content is pure functional raw material; this is why you can enjoy such significant amounts as 1125mg of beta-alanine per capsule, for a more convenient use and less daily capsule requirement.
How to combine Beta-Alanine with other pre-workout amino acids?
A common question regarding dietary supplements, in general, is what other compounds they can be combined with: Here, you have nothing to worry about as beta-alanine is a completely suitable and valid amino acid for use together with any other compound, including other amino acids and functional groups of supplements.
There are classic combinations of dietary supplements with which to combine beta-alanine to fully enjoy the positive properties offered by different products. For example:
Beta-alanine is often combined with Citrulline Malate, or alternatively with Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (AAKG).
To this base, you can add or not, caffeine, which is a stimulant with beneficial physiological properties for sports; and additionally, glycerol, which does not have stimulant properties, beetroot juice powder and L-taurine.
What a combo!
And don't forget to flavour the mix with our flavour system for amino acids and sports drinks.
Return to what really works
With our RawSeries line, we materialise one of the principles we have upheld since the beginning of our project: Using the best raw materials to manufacture our dietary supplements, with simple, complete, and effective formulas (in this case, only with pure raw material).
No need to add unnecessary additives (in this case, none), no colourants, in convenient, practical, and effective formats.
100% Pure is the reinforcement of our RAW line, where we have always offered you top-quality, pure, and additive-free products so that you can use them 'raw' or combine them with other products and/or flavourings to enjoy the dietary supplements you need, knowing 100% what you are consuming.
