In addition, thanks to the excellent nutritional composition of our ready meals, you can eat them every day without fear of not providing your body with the necessary nutrients, as they are nutritionally balanced recipes, prepared in a classic way and with natural ingredients.

- If you are a person with a moderate appetite or follow a normal diet: It is the only dish for a main meal.
- If you are a person with a big appetite, or follow a high-calorie diet: You can accompany it with a second course, with vegetables and lean protein sources, such as a tuna salad.
- If you have a small appetite or are on a low-calorie diet: You can divide the tray in two, to share, or to eat in two portions, although ideally we recommend accompanying it with at least another portion of a light meal.

Although the main focus of HSN's gourmet recipes is to enjoy the incredible and delicious taste of the best selection of ingredients and their combination, their nutritional contribution is also something we have kept in mind.
Gourmet ready meals provide an adequate carbohydrate content, sufficient to satiate you and to enjoy the pasta and buckwheat base in quantity, while not being excessive for people who are not athletes and therefore maintain a more carbohydrate-rich diet.
The chicken base is present, it is not a small content like other prepared recipes, you see the juicy chicken pieces on the plate and you can taste them to enjoy the highest quality meat, prepared carefully so as not to dry it out. This chicken content contributes to the good protein content.
While if sauces are a concern for you, they don't have to be, as they are prepared in a light, calorie-reduced form so you can enjoy the full flavour without worrying about the calories.

Why do HSN dishes contain rapeseed oil?
Rapeseed is a seed oil that has an unfairly bad reputation, as rapeseed was involved in a pesticide contamination scandal for a time, decades ago, which affected the safety of the oil produced from that batch of rapeseed that was in fact destined for the black market. However, outside this event, rapeseed oil is not an unhealthy oil, on the contrary, it is loaded with polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega-6.
Our ready meals are prepared by specialist chefs in Poland, following our guidelines and directives. Among the cooking oil options available was rapeseed, which is one of the main unsaturated oils used in the country thanks to its good nutritional value, resistance to cooking heat and versatility. It is considered the 'olive oil of the north'.
Rapeseed oil is excellent for preparing our ready meals as it does not have an intense flavour, it is a base that does not go rancid thanks to its good stability and it provides heart-healthy fatty acids, making it perfect for use in healthy cooking.
If you are not a particularly spicy lover, the gourmet options are perfect for you
Do you love spicy food? Fit dishes are for you, no doubt about it.
But if spiciness is not your thing and you prefer to enjoy flavours with a reduced level of pungency, or no spiciness at all, gourmet dishes are for you.
Only the recipe for Pasta with chicken in tomato and paprika sauce has a spicy taste, as paprika is a dehydrated red pepper (chilli) with a mild-moderate level of pungency, but it is noticeable in the dish, without being extremely intense. It is slightly less spicy than the level of 'Fit Rice with Chicken in Indian-Style Curry Sauce', and could be rated as 2.5/5 spicy.
The rest of the gourmet recipes do not have a spicy taste and any spices used with a pungent taste are added in such small quantities that they do not add spiciness to the dish, so it is ideal for you if you prefer to eat regularly with a low degree of spiciness in your dishes.
The sauces in the gourmet recipes have creamy cream bases, with mild tastes of honey, mustard or herbs. All of these flavours do not have a spicy taste, and on the contrary, have a naturally mild taste.
Why don't HSN ready meals need a fridge?
You may find it confusing that HSN-ready meals, being healthy, natural recipes, such as those you can make at home, allow something that you cannot achieve with the dishes you prepare at home, i.e. that they can be kept without a fridge and for months. How is this possible?
This is achieved thanks to the thermal sterilisation process, and packaging in a protective atmosphere, which is something that requires meticulous industrial control to achieve. Although it is an improvement in preservation that is natural, it cannot be achieved at home.
Thermal sterilisation is not unusual, nor does it add negative compounds to health, and the procedure is simple: You need to raise the temperature of the dish, once prepared, above 100ºC and then subject it to very rapid cooling; this not only ensures the best preservation of the recipe but also prepares it to last for months in good condition.
As soon as the thermal sterilisation process is completed, in an aseptic space, the film covering the tray of the prepared dish is sealed. This creates a protective atmosphere that allows the food inside to remain fresh without the need for refrigeration for a long time, as the environment inside the tray is controlled and maintains the preserving properties of thermal sterilisation.
Our ready meals are natural, of course, but this is made possible by the preparation process. If you open the film on the tray and release the protective atmosphere of the food, it behaves like a recipe that you can make yourself, and you should eat it within the day, keeping it, if necessary, in the fridge.
